Moodle, Learning Management System, LMS.

Abstract

The paper substantiates the need to use an electronic workbook hosted on LMS (Learning Management System) platform for independent work of first-year students at the School of International Relations at MGIMO University. The article emphasizes the expediency of using this platform and the effectiveness of using modern information technologies. The authors share their experience in creating an algorithm for managing the independent work of undergraduate students, clearly describing the stages of such work. The scientific novelty of this study lies in the fact that it is the first to describe the stages of organizing and managing independent work of undergraduate students within a specific educational environment and in accordance with the university’s educational standards for linguodidactic purposes. As a result, it provides methodological recommendations for students and lesson plans for teachers, which include exercises from the electronic workbook of the English course for first-year undergraduate students at MGIMO University.

Keywords: independent work of students, foreign language teaching, educational environment, the use of information technologies, Moodle, Learning Management System, LMS.
